Abstract
Presentation of CaseA seven-year-old girl was admitted to the hospital because of bloody diarrhea and oliguria. She was well until one week earlier, when vomiting and diarrhea developed, with a low-grade fever. Several days before admission the fever subsided, but the diarrhea became profuse, with grossly evident blood. Continued vomiting precluded the intake of fluids, and the patient became dehydrated and lethargic, with diminished urinary volume. One day before entry she was admitted to another hospital, where examination was negative except for evidence of dehydration and blood-streaked stools. She had lost 2 kg in weight during the week before . . .Keywords
