Abstract
Reports a very strong interaction between the 4d5p 1F term and 5snf 1F in Sr I. Multiconfiguration Hartree-Fock calculations for the lowest 1F term are used to determine the transition probability for the 5s4d 1D-(4d5p+5s4f) 1F transition. The calculated transition probability is very small, due to destructive interference, in agreement with observations. Keywords
