Abstract
WE HAVE previously studied the long-term effects of depot estradiol and testosterone on pituitary-adrenal function in the intact rat (1). It is of considerable importance to know if in addition to mediation through the pituitary, there is any direct action of sex hormones on adrenal cortical function. Several estrogens and androgens, natural and synthetic, have been examined in an in vitro system. Keywords
