An Analysis of the Trematode Genus Allocreadium Looss with the Description of Allocreadium neotenicum sp. nov. from Water Beetles

Abstract
A. neoptenicum occurs unencysted and fully mature in the haemocoel of Acilius semisulcatus, Dytiscus sp., and Agabus sp. in Michigan. That the larva is an ophthalmoxiphidio-cercaria is shown by the retention of a stylet and eyespots. Allocreadium is rediagnosed and all currently included spp. are discussed. A. wallini and A. chuscoi are transferred to Crassicutis [comb. nov. not made.] Plagioporus boleosomi (Allocreadium b. Pearse) (=_P. lepomis Dobro-volny); and P. oncorhynchi (Allocreadium o. Eguchl).
