Abstract
The phosphatase activity in the cells of the supraoptic nucleus and the paraventricular nucleus of the hypothalamus of the cow embryo at fetal ages varying from 3-7 months was investigated by histochemical methods. In the 3d intrauterine month, acid phosphatase activity was clearly demonstrable in both nuclei, indicating that the neurosecretory system is already involved in active function during intrauterine life.
