Integrated 2×2 optical switch with gain

Abstract
A 2×2 optical switch based on semiconductor laser amplifiers with passive waveguide routers and corner mirrors is demonstrated. All paths show fibre-to-fibre gain for all polarisations, with 6 dB gain achieved in the best case.Keywords
