Abstract
The role of catecholamines stored in the adrenal medulla for survival of rats during cold exposure has been observed using normal and immunosympathectomized rats, submitted to surgical removal of the adrenal medulla. A dramatic alteration of heart rate electrocardiographic pattern and fall of body temperature were observed in immunosympathec -tomized-medullectomized rats, but not in the other groups. Keywords
