Abstract
HoBaCuO high-J c superconducting single crystalline thin films were first grown on MgO (001) substrates by magnetron sputtering. The films showed sharp resistive transition with T c(R=0)=84 K. The critical current density J c was 2.54×106 A/cm2 at 77.3 K. Even under the influence of a magnetic field of 1.0 T, J c was sustained at more than 1.5×106 A/cm2 at 77.3 K. X-ray and electron diffraction analyses showed that the basal planes of the films are parallel to the substrates and that these films are epitaxially grown single crystals. Keywords
