Abstract
The applicability of the method of Menon and Rochat to the estimation of the mass of singly-ionizing particles arrested in photographic emulsion is examined and modifications necessary to take account of (a) dip and (b) the variation of scattering constant with cell-size and velocity, are discussed. The ‘sliding cut-off’ method of eliminating large unrepresentative signals is described in detail. Keywords
