Abstract
A lead technique is described for the histochemical demonstration of 5-nucleotidase in formalin-fixed nervous tissues. It employs a pH of 6.5 and Mn++10-2 M as activator. Substrate (adenosine-5-phosphate) concentration is approximately 1.15 X 10-3 M. Incubations of 15-30 minutes are generally adequate. Localizations noted are to the grey neuropil and astroglia of the cat and myelinated nerve fibers of the rat. Keywords
