Abstract
5 patients suffering from myasthenia gravis received one or more courses of injns. of cortisone or ACTH. In every patient increased muscle weakness was observed. 2 patients had no improvement, 1 patient had slight transitory improvement, 1 patient had moderate transitory improvement and 1 patient had marked transitory improvement after completion of the courses of cortisone or ACTH. Until time elapses for further study of the 3 surviving patients the evidence is that cortisone and ACTH are of limited value in the treatment of myasthenia gravis. Keywords
