Abstract
Estrogen-induced heat and estrogen-progesterone-induced heat differ in that the former is less well defined at the beginning and is frequently longer. It may be followed by a second heat if progesterone is injected at the end of the heat. Additional progesterone given at the end of an estrogen-progesterone-induced heat does not induce a 2nd heat. Animals with normal ovarian condition, but in which heat was short or did not occur prior to ovariectomy, were brought into heat with larger quantities of estrogen followed by progesterone, but the latent period was long and heat short. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
