Abstract
When muscle press juice was made alkaline and buffered with NaHCO3 a synthesis of phosphocreatine, and simultaneously a decomposition of lactacidogen and pyrophosphoric acid occurred. Addition of myoadenylic acid greatly accelerated the synthesis of pyrophosphate, but inosinic acid and adenosine were not active. It is suggested that the reversible deaminization of adenylic acid which occurs in activity is bound in some way with the pyrophosphate metabolism.
