Abstract
Improvement in survival and slight growth increments were obtained in thyrotoxic rats with increasing levels of dietary casein up to 40%. Partial or complete replacement of casein with liver residue gave good growth and survival. Egg albumin was inactive. Intermediate activity was found with fibrin, whole egg and lactalbumin. A mixture of L-amino acids simulating that supplied by liver residue was inactive. The antithyrotoxic activity appeared to be distinct from the protein portion of liver. Keywords
