Abstract
The feasibility of a combined neutron and X-ray scattering experiment in a liquid metal for determining the static dielectric function is discussed. It is shown that a reasonable response function is obtainable from available experimental data in the case of aluminium. The sources of errors present in the proposed approach are also discussed. Keywords
