Abstract
Active immunization of guinea pigs and rabbits with outer membrane proteins (OMP) isolated from S. flexneri 3a and S. sonnei phase I protected the animals against keratoconjunctivitis shigellosa induced with the homologous or heterologous strain. Protection was achieved in rabbits after passive immunization with anti-OMP immune serum. Active immunization with lipopolysaccharide of S. flexneri 3a did not protect rabbits against keratoconjunctivitis shigellosa. This publication has 16 references indexed in Scilit:
