Abstract
Complicated and disseminated gonococcal infections caused by penicillinase-producing Neisseria gonorrhoeae are beginning to be reported. Four patients with gonococcal septic arthritis in whom penicillinase-producing gonococci were isolated from joint fluid are described. These cases responded to antibiotic therapy that was known to be effective against penicillinase-producing N. gonorrhoeae. Keywords
