Abstract
A general approach based on a chainlike set of functional equations of Dyson's type in the mixed coordinate-propagation vector representation is developed to construct the Green's function of the acoustic vibration field in a viscous stratified medium. The theory is applicable to systems consisting of an arbitrary number of solid (crystalline or elastically isotropic) and/or fluid layers, each of arbitrary thickness. Keywords
