Abstract
F3 lines of the barley crosses Odessa × Pannier and Odessa × Excelsior were subjected to tests with compatible monosporidial lines of an inbred race each of covered and false loose smut. The results indicated that both Pannier and Excelsior have one dominant gene for resistance to each of the two races and that the genes in each variety appear to be closely associated. Keywords
