Abstract
Twenty patients with long bone fractures were studied for a period of 7 days after injury. Twenty medical students were used as controls. Total serum proteins, albumin, iron and transferrin decreased. [alpha]1- and [alpha] 2-Globulins increasec and [beta]-and [gamma] -globulins showed no change. Protein-bound carbohydrates also increased. Keywords
