Abstract
The longitudinal and transverse velocities of 1 MHz ultrasonic oscillations in polycrystalline methane have been measured at temperatures between 14 and 90°K. The adiabatic and isothermal compressibilities, Poisson’s coefficient, and 0°K Debye temperature of solid methane have been determined. Keywords
