Abstract
The method of prepn. of a pancreas fraction possessing lipotropic activity is descr. This pancreas fraction has been found by others to prevent fatty livers in depancreatized dogs maintained with insulin. It is not effective in preventing the nutritional fatty liver resulting from the feeding of a high fat, low protein and choline-free diet. The lipotropic activity of this material cannot be accounted for on the basis of its choline, methionine or inositol content nor on the basis of free proteolytic activity. Keywords
