Abstract
The uniaxial-film-compensated wide-view liquid crystal displays, with initially homogeneous alignment and vertical alignment, are analyzed. For each compensation scheme, the analytical solutions with the illustration of Poincare sphere representation are derived. Based on the analytical solutions, the 100:1 iso-contrast contours at any viewing angle can be easily achieved for most of the compensation schemes. Keywords
