Abstract
Recent reports have indicated that there is a reduction in the peripheral circulation time (through the arm) in a significant proportion of carriers of Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Possibly as a result of reduction in the volume of the vascular bed, and increase in blood flow or a combination of the 2 factors. The present investigation has shown that, using the technique of venous occlusion plethysmography, no difference is demonstrable in limb blood flow between controls and carriers nor is there any consistent abnormality in boys with Duchenne muscular dystrophy. This publication has 6 references indexed in Scilit:
