Abstract
Non linear conductivity due to the depinning of charge density waves has been studied in the Peierls distorted state of the blue bronzes K0.30 MoO3 and Rb0.30MoO3 as a function of concentration of defects created by electron irradiation. The threshold electric field for the onset of non linearity is found to increase linearly with the defect concentration, as expected for strong pinning centres. The hysteretic properties are also modified by the irradiation centresKeywords
