Abstract
In 19 patients with prostatic carcinoma, urinary androsterone and etiocholanolone were determined before and after castration. The value thus obtained for the androgen production of the testes was correlated with the number and morphology of the Leydig cells as evaluated in histological specimens. A fairly close correlation was found in all but two cases, in which no cellular details were seen which might explain the discrepancy. Keywords
