Abstract
Normal 18‐ to 77‐year‐olds were administered a computerized battery of everyday memory tests. Cluster and discriminant function analyses yielded a variety of memory subtypes, including age‐independent and age‐dependent forgetfulness, and varying patterns of strengths and weaknesses on name‐face memory, object location recall, and facial memory. Results are discussed in relation to “benign” forgetfulness, age‐associated memory impairment, and material‐specific memory subtypes. Keywords
