Abstract
Bile obtained by duodenal intubation of human subjects was analyzed for its bile acid content. Specific bile acids studied were cholic, chenodeoxycholic and deoxycholic. Following administration of L3:5:3′ triiodothronine a decrease was noted in the ratio of chenodeoxycholic to cholic acid (CD:C). This change was maximal at two hours. It was not noted in bile obtained by choledochostomy drainage from patients with recent cholecystectomies. Keywords
