Structure of a red clay soil from Nyeri, Kenya

Abstract
Summary: A red soil from Nyeri has a well developed crumb (erde) structure. Electron microscopy shows the crumbs to comprise mainly small clay plates and smaller, 50 Å, iron oxide particles. The iron oxide particles tend to aggregate with each other; otherwise the particles are mixed randomly. The observations help to explain the moisture holding and compaction characteristics of the soil.This publication has 8 references indexed in Scilit:
