Abstract
The problem of increasing the sensitivity of an inductive proximity transducer is discussed and it is shown that a transducer designed to have a high sensitivity will also suffer from a serious temperature dependence due to the resistance of the winding. It is shown that this temperature dependence may be overcome by measuring the mutual inductance between two separate windings. The construction of such a transducer with increased sensitivity and improved temperature coefficient is described.
