Abstract
Catecholoxymethyl trans-ferase (COMT) as well as monoamineoxidase (MAO) plays a significant role in the inactivation of endogenous and exogenous norepinephrine in rabbit brain. Win 18501-2 depletes selectively the content of norepinephrine in rabbit brain. Sedation induced by resperine on Win 18501-2 seems to be related to the depletion of brain norepinephrine. In addition to MAO blockade iproniazid and Catron seem to produce a strong binding of norepinephrine with receptors in the brain.
