Abstract
IS the virus of infectious hepatitis becoming more virulent, or are there complications of this liver disease that were not previously appreciated? These questions are raised by the report on fatal aplastic anemia after hepatitis published elsewhere in this issue of the Journal. In addition to the 5 cases described in this article, at least 6 have been reported in the literature in the past ten years,1 2 3 4 5 6 and three more patients have been studied locally.7 Considering the frequency of infectious hepatitis, 14 cases of subsequent aplastic anemia do not make an impressive series, and this may be merely the coincidental . . .Keywords
