Abstract
Gonadotropins were extracted by the kaolin-acetone method from the urine of 11 men and assayed for FSH and total gonadotropins. The gonadotropin concentration ranged from 2.6-33 mg equivalents of HMG20A (Organon) per day. There was greater variation between subjects than between repeated samples from the same individual. No changes due to diurnal variation or sexual activity were detected, and there was no indication that the ratio of FSH to ICSH differed in any of the extracts obtained from normal men.
