Abstract
This research examined the general structure underlying preferences for various types of content in three leisure-time media: books, motion pictures and television programs. The technique of multidimensionally scaled correlations revealed two primary dimensions underlying content preferences: entertainment-diversion versus aesthetic-intellectual and instrumental versus expressive.Keywords
