Abstract
An hereditary degeneration of the retina in mice is described. The retina develops normally to almost the adult stage when the rods degenerate. Loss of the outer layers of the retina and degeneration of the pigment epithelium follow. There is no secondary cataract. The condition is inherited as a Mendelian recessive character. The relationship of this lesion to retinal degenerations in other animals and to retinitis pigmentosa in man is discussed. This publication has 5 references indexed in Scilit:
