ACUTE NON-SPECIFIC PERICARDITIS

Abstract
Fourteen patients with acute non-specific pericarditis are presented. All were men and their ages ranged from 19 to 75 years. Pericardial friction was not heard in 3 patients. Six patients had more than one attack and one had 17 attacks in 16 years. Shock was present in 2 patients. Severe abdominal pain simulating perforation of a peptic ulcer occurred in one patient and led to his death during the induction of anesthesia for laparotomy. No etiological agent was found in any of the cases.
