Abstract
In Fahmy and O'Reilly (1982 a, b), a parametric solution for the linear state-feedback eigenstructure-assignment problem is developed. This approach is here modified in such a way as to accommodate the case where the set of closed-loop eigenvalues and the set of open-loop eigenvalues have elements in common. It is particularly shown that each common eigenvalue introduces a number of partially free design parameter vectors in addition to the original free ones. The paper concludes with illustrative numerical examples. Keywords
