Abstract
A formula based on certain simplifying assumptions is presented by means of which the axis of rotation of any single-rooted tooth can be calculated using the minimum of data. The only information that is necessary is the length of the root and the distance between the cervix and the point on the crown at which the tipping force is applied. In this case the direction of force application is perpendicular to the long axis of the tooth. A table is provided from which this information can directly be taken. Keywords
