Abstract
One of the most potent families of compounds ever discovered, the prostaglandins are beginning to achieve clinical application as abortifacients and indeed as the sole “contraceptive” used by some women abroad. But the extreme variety of both their biologic activity and the tissues they appear to affect suggests that research has only begun to tap their ultimate clinical potential. Keywords
