Abstract
Six species of heathland bryophytes [Sphagnum papillosum, Dicranum scoparium, Pleurozium schreberi, Polytrichum commune, Hypnum cupressiforme var. ericetorum and Aulacomnium palustre] were grown from vegetative fragments. Each species became established to some extent by itself, but a variety of mixtures of species resulted when all 6 were sown together on different soils litter types and on peat. Mixed stands of bryophytes might be produced at suitable sites provided an adequate supply of propagules is available. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
