Abstract
For pt.I see ibid., vol.20, p.1295 (1987). The exterior complex rotated continuum X alpha model described in an earlier paper is analysed and refined. In the present improved continuum electron exchange model the authors have the possibility of including exchange between the scattered electron and the atomic core as well as the valence orbitals of the target. A formal comparison between the present and the previous exchange models is put forward and a proof is indicated that the total interaction potential is exterior dilation analytic. New numerical results are presented on the well known 2P shape resonances in the Be- and Mg- metastable ions and the 2D shape resonance occurring in the e--Mg collisional system for low-energy scattering, and compared with previous theoretical calculations as well as experimental results. Keywords
