Abstract
Electrophoretic patterns of blood serum proteins from guinea pigs were compared before and after experimental infection with virulent or avirulent strains of E hlstolytica. Quantitative changes were decreased albumin and increased globulins as described. Injurious effects were observed in the presence of infections with the virulent strain only, and the severe cases of amebiasis generally showed the greatest changes in protein fractions. Separation of alpha-2 globulin into 2 peaks was noted especially in severe cases. Keywords
