Gamma-ray Compton profiles of glassy carbon and graphite

Abstract
Compton profiles of glassy carbon and polycrystalline graphite were measured with 60‐keV 241Am gamma rays. The difference between the two profiles was found to be much smaller than a recently reported measurement with Ag Ka fluorescence radiation. A probable source for this discrepancy is the underestimation of multiple scattering effects in the Ag Ka measurement.
