Abstract
A characteristic pattern of ABR [auditory brainstem responses] was observed in hyper- and hypofunction of the [human] thyroid gland. The most conspicuous change took place in the brainstem conduction time. Its value correlated well with the level of serum thyroxine. Dynamic changes of ABR pattern were recorded during the development of myxedema and on return to a euthyroid state. Examinations of ABR may serve as a tool in the overall assessment of thyroid status. This publication has 6 references indexed in Scilit:
