Measurement of the Tensor Polarization in Electron-Deuteron Elastic Scattering

Abstract
This paper reports the first measurement of the tensor polarization in elastic scattering. The polarization of the recoil deuterons was measured for two values of momentum transfer, , with a high-efficiency polarimeter. The results are in good agreement with reasonable models for the deuteron.
