Abstract
An antibiotic elaborated by Pfeifferella whitmori is described. This principle is active in vitro against the H37RV strain of Mycobacterium tuberculosis, but in several other respects closely resembles penicillin. It has given encouraging results in a small-scale therapeutic trial in experimental guinea-pig diphtheria. Keywords
