Abstract
Succinic acid, as %''of dry wt., was found to be present in successively lower concns. in the leaves (0.4), bols (0.35), flowers (0.24), seed kernels (0.17), petioles (0.13), stems (0.09), and roots (0.07). The data are of value in that they delimit the extent to which succinic acid can be turned to in efforts to account for acids in the unidentified group (acids other than citric, malic and oxalic). The results obtained show that succinic acid constitutes an appreciable part of the previously unidentified acids occurring in the leaves (17%), 13-day bolls (20%) and mature seed kernels (29%).This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
