Abstract
Aztreonam treatment was successful in 4 cases of typhoid fever. The patients were seriously ill with growth of Salmonella typhi in blood cultures despite treatment with chloramphenicol. Aztreonam appears to be a useful alternative to standard therapy of typhoid fever. Keywords
