Abstract
Van Slyke micro-Kjeldahl detns. of N in fibrinogen and fibrin showed a loss of about 9% of the N during clotting. Sorenson titrations of the same materials showed a corresponding increase of 6% in the no. of free amino groups. Both substances were found to autolyze to yield the same products of digestion as detd. by heat coagulation, and the fractional protein analysis of Wasteneys and Borsook. The rate and degree of digestion were greater with large than with small amts. of thrombin. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
