Embolization of Dog Prostates With Yttrium-90 Microspheres

Abstract
A method of applying radiotherapy to the prostate of dogs by means of intra-arterially injected yttrium-90 ceramic microspheres is described. The results showed that homogeneous destrcution of the gland does occur but the effects of a given dose can range unpredictably by producing no effect, destruction of the prostate, or early death with infarction of the prostate and other pelvic organs.
